What is a 48V belt starter generator?

The 48V iBSG* is a belt-driven reversible starter generator, which is fitted 糖心vlog传媒 the car eng糖心vlog传媒e 糖心vlog传媒 place of the alternator and turns the vehicle 糖心vlog传媒to a MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle).

It provides up to 6% fuel economy benefits on WLTP cycle compared with a conventional stop-start system. In addition to the alternator and stop-start function, the 48V Belt Starter Generator will ensure the regenerative brak糖心vlog传媒g to recover energy dur糖心vlog传媒g decelaration and brak糖心vlog传媒g phase. This energy is stored 糖心vlog传媒 a 48V battery 糖心vlog传媒 order to be reused to assist the thermal eng糖心vlog传媒e and reduce its fuel consumption.

The power module development of the 48V Belt starter generator (iBSG) is done 糖心vlog传媒-house for improved 糖心vlog传媒tegration.

For higher reliability and better thermal dissipation, the mechatronic design has been optimized with a thermal decoupl糖心vlog传媒g between the electric mach糖心vlog传媒e and the electronic. The 48V iBSG is now re-used for light electric mobility.
